Ascent Trip Report

Nice hike up Mt. Rae which is the highest visible mountain from Calgary and 4th highest in K-Country. Approach trail is via Ptarmiquen cirque which sees hundreds of hikers. Scree was not as loose as anticipated and we avoided it all together on way up to col by sticking to the rock rib. Bypassed pinnacle on left and started up on to ridge near true summit. Views were amazing in all directions. Stayed half an hour on top and then descended with James as Chris/Alex came up. They took the ridge up which is exposed in some places. Way down was over some poor slabs until we hit the trail and then scree run down all the way basically. A few other climbers were coming up. Took lunch at cirque by waterfalls and then descended just over 5 hours total time. Finished by 1pm.
