Ascent Trip ReportRobinson TR
0510 Start with Hannah at the Robinson Creek Trailhead 2600') Simple and gradual gain to the Beauty Creek turnoff (3500') at 0600. Bootpack was steep and shot up to 5200' a mile and a half later to the next turnoff (0710) on a scant boot path up to the tarn sy 6750' where we took our first as break of about 10 minutes at 0800. By 0835 we made it up turrible scree to the 7400' notch in the primary northern ridge of Robinson. We then gained more of the ridge to an apex at 8200' around 0915. There was some class 3 scramble in this stretch. Once at the apex, the majority of the remainder of the route displayed itself; easy walking across scree and ridge to the summit of 8726' at 1000 (4:50 from start, 6,200' gain). Pictures, food, and lounging were had at about 25 minutes when we went back Dien, reversing the route back to the trailhead at 1430 (9:20 RT, with rests) and 85 degrees. ° Temps were warm then hot down low and cool and quite windy up high. Winds began near the tarn and were sustained 15-20 mph on the ridge (0800-1130). It drizzled off and on from 4700' to a climax at the tarn at 6750' then stopped; I don't remember any precipitation after the tarn. Intermittent clouds, clearing through the day.
