Ascent Trip ReportScrambling trip to Rampart Ridge and Alta Mountain. Arrived at backdoor trail head early to find about 8 cars already. Very overgrown road, recommend high clearance vehicle and expect alot of pinstripes. Mosquitoes were a nuisance all day in lower elevations and near water. Beautiful views of Glacier and Rainier. Rampart Ridge scramble was the highlight with some exposure. Approach to Alta summit has three or four false summits but views were worth the trek up. Poles recommended for steep and loose trail segments.
