Ascent Trip ReportTook the kids up to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake. Afterwards we decided to add another peak to our list. Arab Mountain is only about 10-15 miles from the village so it was a quick drive over. No problems finding the TH. Really easy walk up to the cabin and fire tower. Only complaints were the humidity and the deer flys. Seriously I have got to find something that repels them because deet doesn't even touch them. Took the kids up into the cab to get some pics, but the ranger's cabin was locked. We also met Kate who is the summit guide for Arab Mountain. Great views of the village of Tupper Lake. Probably going to hit Blue Mt. tomorrow. This is #6 for me in the fire tower challenge, #3 for Mya, and #2 for Ethan. |
