Ascent Trip Report

This was one of the first hikes I ever took as a Boy Scout.I cannot recall when in 1970 this was but eas either on Easter break or Memorial Day weekend. We were at the Lost Valley Boy Scout camp for 5-7 days. This was a day hike that we took. There was approx 20-25 scouts with us.It was not too hot but at the end of the hike we had to scurry back to camp as we were getting thunder storms and lightning. After gettting back to camp I remember one of the most violent thunderstorms and lightning I ever recall witnessing.Literally rained for 3 hours straight and the thunderstorms did start a fire up in the mounatins. We did see a few deer and several baby rattlesnakes
