|Peak:||Torreón del Calvitero|

Ascent Trip ReportVisited as an add on to ascending nearby P600 Canchal de la Ceja. Did not give itself up easily however. Although easy walk off Canchal de la Ceja summit and reasonable descent to col at 2308m if taken with care. Reascent is up granite flows where suspect only one correct route, albeit made easier by carefully following regular cairns. The sting in the tail comes with descent down what I have been told by a local is called El Paso de Diablos before final reascent to trig and summit area. A serious down climb which would have been impossible for me without aid from chain fixed to rock face in places where you not necessarily want to go.
Torreón translates to Tower or Keep from Spanish to English so the 2398m spot height 125m SSW of trig pillar is probably El Torreón with trig pillar taking the name.
Trig pillar spot height is 2400m on map.
Peakhunter App measures trig at 2401.2 and 2398 spot as 2399.2.
Measurement taken on trig plinth which is man built at least 2m high so argument for 2398m spot to be as high if not highest natural ground and possible alternate high point for Comunidades Autónomas de Extremadura.
Anyway recommend visiting both even though scramble required to gain 2398m summit.
