Ascent Trip Report1/6 in a single day Ultra Saranac 6er Poured all night while I slept in the back of my jeep. Luckily, wunderground was right and rain was supposed to stop at 0300. I got up, brushed my teeth at a gas station near Berkeley Green. Got to the green and started at 4:23, an hour or two later than I wanted, but much preferred to hiking in a downpour and lightning.
McKenzie was nice, moderately to hard trail in parts, and very slippery. I ended up falling x3 on the way down to the Haystack junction and almost went over a 15ft cliff. Just a very scrapes and lucky this was the worst it was descending for the day |
