Ascent Trip ReportBoreas Mntn from Boreas Pass. Grass hiking to a steep talis chute that had some snow in the center. I chose to go up the right side as it looked less steep and less rocky. Not sure if I was right but I had some pretty easy footing for most of it. Gaining the saddle it turned to steep grass before gaining the first bump. I stayed left on the bump and skirted it. The following ridge was lots of small to medium dinner plate style talus. Lots of ups and downs along the ridge which seemed to keep showing a new false summit. Finally reached the top with clouds looming and light drizzle. I paused for only 30 seconds to take a few pictures then ran off. Instead of staying on the ridge I dropped down to the left and followed what appeared to be a trail. Skirted most of the top this way but still ended up climbing the bump before the saddle to avoid side hilling on talis and a snow field that blocked the way. That way didn’t look pleasant. The drizzle and wind persisted until I got into the saddle almost loosing my hat in the process. Basically retraced my ascent back to the van. Skies threatened but never really rained on me. I would call this hike a bit of a rush job. this would be a great spring ski. 2hrs 3.2mi 1549ft.
