Ascent Trip ReportStarted day before the actual hike. Camped at the trailhead night before. The dirt road going to the trailhead was far from the mainroad. It was dark, passed through a number of creeks. We got stuck in some of the river crossings. We had to maneuver carefully. The drive was slow. We stopped beside a creek and camped listening to the wind and sound of the water flowing from the creek nearby. Started about 6am, followed a jeep trail for about 30 minutes. We then bushwhacked until we got to a ridge. The Aspen trees has blossomed with its lush green leaves. The way up was steep, went over some patches of snow. We brought spikes and had to use it in some areas. At the peak, we took some pictures, and went back to the shoulder and spent our lunch there. The wind was strong enough we could not stay at the peak longer. Driving back to the road was easier during daylight. We did not get stuck. It was still slow and careful.
