Ascent Trip Report

This was my second attempt at this great mountain. Like the last time, I drove in from Boston. Interestingly, due to an avalanche warning, the Tuckerman Ravine route was closed this time too so I had to do the Lion's Head winter route again. This time; however, there was no snow and the weather was basically perfect. Lion's Head isn't nearly as treacherous as it is in the actual winter and the steeps section in the beginning was tough, but very negotiable. When I reached the location where I had to stop the first time, I realized that stopping then was the right decision. I felt redeemed with my past decision and very satisfied when I reached the mountain top this time. I've had other failed attempts on different mountains, but this one stung a little. It was great walking around this mountain's top. It's big and spacious and today, it was peaceful on this nice summer morning. This is one of the mountains that I had circled on my map to accomplish. Done!
