Ascent Trip Report

I was determined to reach Noahs Ark so I drove further up the road to the Henderson Hill TH, parked there and hiked the Henderson Hill trail. I had to add a log to a crossing area for the creek as it was rushing with some force, but after that the rest of the trail was okay.

There is nothing special about Henderson Hill, it is tree covered and offers inferior views, but since I was hiking right past it, I figured I would go across the top. After Henderson Hill, one gives up about 300 feet of elevation hiking across the saddle toward Noahs Ark. Also there is a short .2 mile where it is a Mahogany Tree bushwhack before reaching the much more open red clay and rock ridge.

There are a couple things wrong with the placement of Noahs Ark as well as the topo elevations. Point 8596 is not Noahs Ark HP, nor is it situated on what would resemble an Ark. Point 8592 is the high point, significantly higher than what the topo states, it is also located on what resembles an Ark and has the register; so I believe most of the people who hike to Noahs Ark take point 8592 as the destination.
