Ascent Trip Report

After a failed scouting out of this one a few years back, it was nice to finally get it. Called the landowner a week or so before my planned arrival and found him friendly and more than willing to grant permission. He just told me to park by the start of the road. I arrived on a quiet Friday afternoon and did just that, walking up the increasingly-steep service road to the towers on the summit. It was hot but not unbearably so, and the views proved expansive, covering high agricultural plains, manmade lakes, and mountains stretching off to the north. Less than 1:30 roundtrip. I made it back to the Seattle area that night, after driving by the ancient waterfalls at Coulee City and through the Cascades along US-2.
