Ascent of Doyle Peak on 2010-06-20
|Date:||Sunday, June 20, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||11460 ft / 3493 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe forest service said FS road 522 was good for normal cars - I beg to differ. I took it a little over 3 miles, much to the dismay of my car. I should have stopped earlier (2.5 miles?), but I got to a spot where I didn't want to go forward, or back, and couldn't turn around.
Once on the trails, the trails were easy to follow and generally gently sloping. They were fairly rocky however, so appropriate footwear is important. From Doyle Pass, gaining Doyle Peak is steep, but nothing technically difficult. If anyone should see it, I lost my Garmin Colorado 400t GPS on that section (ouch!).
