Ascent Trip ReportThis was my second attempt on this peak, and it was pretty anticlimactic after the difficult time I had in January. There were two redeeming factors though: (1) I made it to the top this time, and (2) I brought two friends along, for both of whom this was their first summit.
The trail is pretty straight forward: drive until the road ends, walk along the road, take the obvious (with no snow) turn onto a bona-fide trail, and follow it to the top. The juncture with the Rooster Rock trail is the only real potential for a snag, be sure to keep left at the junction, taking the most obviously 'up trail'. There was still a couple patches of snow, most notably at the location where I turned back in January. The mix of melting snow and rock just below the cliffs of the summit block gave this trip its class 2 designation, the rest was easy.
Going and coming we passed a few hiker pairs and one large group from Intel, about 20 others in all.
