Ascent Trip Report

At 7:30 am on May 30th, 2019 I left my car on Cloudburst Summit, 7020 feet. The temperature was a pleasant 55 degrees with clear skies and a lite east wind at 3-5mph. I headed down the PCT, literally down 320 feet. At that low point I started up to bump 6903. I left the PCT there and turned left on the use trail. That trail took me around, west, of high point 6903 and followed it up Winston Ridge to the summit. On top, 7003 feet, at 9:45am the temperature was 57 degrees with clear skies and a SE wind at 5-10mph. (On the trip back to the trailhead I recorded the highest temperature of the morning, 64 degrees.) This hike is unusual in that you start off your day by going down hill and end up your day going up in elevation. Back to the car by 11:30am, my morning walk was 4.83 miles with an elevation gain of 896 feet and an elevation loss of 924 feet. Go figure...
