Ascent Trip Report

I took the Camp Nine Road from Parrots Ferry Road. I followed it for over six miles to a bridge which crossed the New Melones Reservoir. This is not one of the bridges further down. From here I drove on the other side of the river/reservoir for about a half mile to FR3N03 and followed it up to the ridge. Then I took FR4N05 until I came upon a gate. I parked 20 or 30 feet back and then walked past the gate and dam. Then I took the first right, then another right and now you see the little lake that feeds water to the power station down on the Stanislaus River. You will also notice a lesser of a dirt road to the left. Follow it about a half mile to the concrete remains of a lookout.
