Ascent Trip Report

From the city of Grants, NM, I used Google Maps to navagate to the beginning of FR 453 (via NM Highway 547 and FR 239), then I drove up to the top of La Mosca Lookout (see that trip report for more details) and then back down to the Mount Taylor/La Mosca saddle. I could see snow on the trail up to Mount Taylor, so I hiked up FR 570 and then followed a snow free motorcycle track up the peak's west ridge to the top. I ran into a CDT thru-hiker on the summit, who heard that the snow on the trail was safe to walk on, so I followed him down the trail back to the truck.
