Ascent of Townsend Mountain on 2019-05-19
|Date:||Sunday, May 19, 2019|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5936 ft / 1809 m|
Ascent Trip ReportMostly snow free which made it a hard scramble. Tried going up the winter route from Eagle lake which proved to be a costly mistake as it took over 1.5 hrs to gain 500 ft through thick slide alder.
Going down the slide alder also was time consuming but that was because a lot of other members on the climb were not used to descending through snow or bush. There was a ridge running directly south west of the summit that looked like a straightforward shot to the summit.
