Ascent Trip ReportFrom Highway 60, I turned south onto the signed FR549 and drove in about 14.7 miles, then turned east onto the signed FR 138 and drove about 2.3 miles to the gate located just below the lookout. From there, I walked up to the summit and then down to the wilderness high point. FR 138 has a rutted section that requires a vehicle with decent ground clearence. |
