Ascent Trip Report

Continued on from Mt. Lyn Lowry. About .5 miles of descending over steep rough terrain until you thankfully get to a wide 2 track that makes the next 1.1 miles much easier. There is an area where there is a field and there are 3 different areas of forks in the road. The report I read said go right then left. Well he only accounted or 2 forks so I got a little lost for about 10 minutes trying to find the trail. Right at first fork, right at 2nd fork, then left at 3rd fork. At 4.0 miles from parking lot the trail gets smaller and splits. This is where you bushwhack .3 miles up to the summit. Bushwhack was easy as the trail was almost as good as the rough trail from Waterrock Knob. Plus it was marked with ribbons pretty well. Summit at 12:30 so 3:25 up. 4.3 total though was a bit longer for me with getting slightly lost. Metal marker and ribbons showing summit. Minimal views and skies starting to clear. Missed Oldfield Top on way. Also need to hit Browning Knob and plane on the way back. 4:50 and 4.7 miles total on the way back due to multiple spots of viewing and searching for plane.
