Ascent Trip ReportLeft car at 4 AM, summit st 7:45 AM, hung out for a while, back to car a few before 11 AM. First snow on trail at 5,200' with consistent snow beginning around 5,500'. Snow remained firm all the way to the summit, no snow shoes used (but brought). Made it to Scatter Lake without spikes, donned spikes from lake to summit then wore them down to near end of consistent snow.
The view from the Abernathy summit is perhaps the greatest in the state for the amount of effort (of a Bulger). What a litany of peaks to be seen!
