Ascent Trip Report

i originally wanted to start from CA-2 downhill from windy gap and take the use trail, but the highway was still closed at islip saddle. i decided to go for the peaks i planned anyhow... although i guess i inadvertently orphaned copter ridge... ha. i'm not particularly going for HPS, but i had deliberately not orphaned ross when i bagged baden-powell a couple years back. i actually looked down copter ridge while i was up there and thought it looked pleasant enough, but certainly not something i'd ever bother with, nor want to climb back up. HPS has some junk on it.

many snow covered sections of the PCT still... and in this area the downhill slope is pretty nuts, like i'm not sure even having an ice axe handy would help much. i had a similar reaction a few years ago doing baden-powell.
