Ascent of Tin Mountain on 2019-04-27
|Date:||Saturday, April 27, 2019|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8953 ft / 2728 m|
Ascent Trip ReportDPS trip led by Tina Bowman and Nile Sorenson. Didn't park in the best spot and started up the wrong ridge, moved to another ridge (still wrong) and got into some steep scree climbing before finally connecting with the use trail. Warm day with breeze. Came down the standard route, which was definitely superior, but we had the adventure we were looking for. Recommend the usual route if you don't want such adventure! Pretty hot (90) when we got back to the cars at 2:45pm. Amazingly, we had seen some residual snow in north-facing chutes just to the south around the 8500' level as we were descending.
