Ascent of Mount Washington on 2019-04-20
|Date:||Saturday, April 20, 2019|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4400 ft / 1341 m|
Ascent Trip ReportStarted from the trail-head with a group of 9 at 7:30 am. The first turn is hidden and doesn't have a marker so it might be a good idea to use your GPS/phone for initially. After the first turn the trail is mostly well-marked throughout. There were 3-4 stream crossings (the same stream) and were easy to cross without getting water into your shoes. Later in the day the water level was more due to the melting snow. The trail was snow covered from the 3-mile mark all the way to the summit. We didn't quite get a clear day so couldn't enjoy the promised views from the top of Mt Washington. Managed to get a glimpse of Change Peak, that's all. The trail is mostly tree covered from the start and only opens up in a few places. There were really icy parts in the trail so would be a good idea to carry micro-spikes (and poles) but there were lots of folks without spikes too and managed just fine. Great hike, would definitely come back again on a clear day!
