Ascent Trip Report

I was able to drive on dry snow free roads all the way to Hinkey Summit from the south. Immediately over the pass continuing north there was still massive amounts of snow on the road. Much of the ridgeline leading to the summit was snow covered, but in the early morning cold it was still firm enough to walk on. I hiked to the summit ridge with minimal post-holing, then snow climbed up the south slope. Descent hike was much messier with lots of postholing and boots full of water since I left the gaters at home.
