Ascent Trip Report

This was a Mountaineers club trip. Party of seven ascended from the Big Creek campground and reached the summit via the winter route in the avy chute. 4,983' gain, 12.63 miles rt. No avy risk, but holes beginning to form in deep soft snow and the stream is showing in places. No ice. We were able to glissade the entire chute, but the snow was extremely soft in the afternoon, and a deep trough had been created by other people on this popular route. With warmer temps in the forecast, it won't be safely doable much longer.
