Ascent Trip Report

The weather worsened as we left South Fortuna. The trail down to the saddle was easy and fast. Climbing North Fortuna did not prove difficult either. It began to rain as we descended towards the saddle and by the time we began hiking down the saddle trail, it was pouring. We were soaking wet by the time we reached the Oak Canyon trail. We crossed the river once again and did a little light rock climbing to get shots of the Oak Canyon waterfall. Oak Canyon was absolutely lush and overgrown, and gave the impression of a cloud forest with the weather and rainfall. It offered a challenging rocky path along the river. We made our way to the Old Mission Dam, our pickup point. Epic trip!
