Ascent Trip ReportHiked with Todd McDonagh. Completed 8.6M loop of Hale Brook Tr, to Lend a Hand Trail, to Zealand Trail an 1 mile of road back to Hale Brook trail head. Beautiful weather with 55-70' temps and blues skies with 90-100 miles visibility. Very clear and comfortable. Notices a lot of trees blown down from prior months heavy snow fall of 24" with many large birch and furs across the trail. It also seemed very dry for tat time of year with not a lot of black fiy or bud issues. We were really surprised to experience that. Met two guys hiking Hale and one forgot his boots and was hiking in slippers with cushy soles. His buddy told him he'd have to leave his bathrobe at home. Funny to see and talk about. |
