Ascent Trip Report

Ditched bike at Eklutna campground, and then crossed a very moderate river flow. Didn't even take boots off. Got a tiny bit wet but not bad.

Found orange flagged trail, struggled to keep it but then eventually gave up and went straight up.

Gained ridge, minimal snow cover with bare rock on sun facing aspects.

Stayed fairly true to the ridge proper without knowing I could have stayed lower to avoid some unnecessary exposed scrambling.

Summit slope was snow covered with minimal melt on north side. Found anchor in vicinity. Felt safe trending to the left and following snow/rock melt line, using straight ice ax and mountain boots sans crampons. Careful footwork was key.

Summit register had no entries since 2017. Great day out!!
