Ascent Trip Report

A prefect way to start a beautiful Spring Day. This one is pretty far from us and we slept in a bit after helping our daughter move into a new apartment yesterday so we didn't arrive on trail until 10:45. Although the dirt road was plowed ~0.5 miles from the trailhead, the end is a snowplow turnaround so we parked at the winter parking area at the top of the hill (2540'). We walked down the dirt road to the turnaround and then continued on the snow covered road dropping 340' over the 0.6 miles to the TH. The trail was broken out with only a few inches of snow and deeper drifts here and there just before the top. We climbed the 800+ feet or so over the next 1.4 miles to the tower, a nice quick shot up under perfect skies, arrived at the summit @ 11:30. The cabin was closed but we had beautiful views all around and enjoyed 20 minutes on the warm summit until heading back down around 11:50. The drop down was quick followed by the climb back up 340' to parking. Great little trail!
