Ascent Trip Report

I decided to drive south today and do Dorset. I reached the road and the tiny parking lot. A lot different in southern VT. There was no snow when I started up the ATV trail. I crossed the river and there were a bunch of possible ATV trails. I stuck near the river, crossed a small branch, and passed the collapsed building. I then ascended. Ice and snow became more frequent higher up. I eventually put on microspikes. I reached the col and turned right. I took a right at the first junction and ascended. I came to another junction and took a right. This took me to the false peak with a collapsed tower and a view. I backtracked to the last junction. Using my GPS as a guide, I headed north, going straight through another junction, then reaching the summit. I headed down and made a brief venture to locate the door knob tree. But not finding it, I didn't want to spend to much time looking for it. There was a storm rolling in later today. So I headed down, going a different way back to the col. Coming off the mountain, while not paying attention, I slipped on a muddy log and got a zinger. But I reached my car just fine.
