Ascent Trip ReportThis trip was an attempt to fill in the sections of the Appalachian Trail in Georgia that I had not previously hiked, and covered the distance from Flatrock Gap (just south of Neels Gap) to Dicks Creek Gap, a distance of about 38 miles.
Having reached Tray Gap the night before, I had completed my 'missing' sections, and from here the trip was just part of a regular Troop 232 overnight AT trip. The Philmont crew showed up late Friday night and hiked around the gap a little bit, and once the balance of the troop joined us Saturday morning, we made our way to Addis Gap for the night, without crossing any other peakbagger database peaks during the day. For that reason, the extra elevation gained is included here. Only about 1530 of the 2530 feet listed was actually on the climb from Indian Grave Gap to Tray Mountain.
