Ascent Trip Report

Used Hillsounds up to 3700' (packed hard, icy snow) then put on snowshoes. Trail was badly postholed and rough. Tried to smooth it out, but didn't do such a great job as it was hard packed. Windy the whole way, snow blowing at times into my face and eyes (my goggles had frozen up in pack, so no use). Summit was a white out and windy. Snowed about an inch since at summit, so used snowshoes almost the whole way down to start a nice path. Lots of people coming up, most wearing snowshoes. The stream at the start of the trail was partially frozen, a bit tricky to cross. Most everyone said they broke through with one of their feet and submerged about 12 inches or so, including me.
