Ascent Trip ReportParked at Marcy Field. No sign in log. Trail was fairly easy to follow (although not broken out in the snow) until the right arrow sign at the small creek crossing. Then there are no markers across the creek indicating which direction to go. You should go right. We went left and ended up bushwhacking most of the way towards the summit which wasn't that easy (we had map and GPS, too!) The trail gets quite steep. We finally located a marker. There are two false summits. Keep going through the woods a bit and you'll reach true summit. This hike was my 29th for the Adirondack 29er Challenge. I told a 46er about it and he said, "Oh that's the 'evil trail' to Porter". Another 2.5 miles would have taken us to Porter. Blueberry was about 5 miles RT and it was enough. -3 degrees F at trailhead. About 11 F at summit and about 14 back at trailhead but the sun was shining and little wind so actually rather pleasant.
