Ascent Trip Report

I made a pitiful attempt to climb Mount Hood. I flew into Seattle the day before, and originally planned for Glacier Peak, but the weather forecast was not good, and the group I had planned to meet cancelled. Mount Hood had been plan B and weather looked good. I wanted an alpine ascent so I slept in the back of my rental (I think a Jeep Renegade). I struggled to sleep as it was just a bit too warm. I think I finally began to sleep around 9:00 PM. I woke up just after midnight and started hiking at 12:42 AM. I found myself struggling with a headache, I wasn't enjoying myself and began questioned why I was doing this, if it wasn't to have fun. Soon I turned around (at around 7,000 feet and 1+ miles of hiking), my headache got much worse and I felt more comfortable with my decision to turn around. I returned to the car climbed in the back and easily slept to sun up. The forecast didn't look good for the next couple of nights so I moved on to South Sister.
