Ascent Trip ReportThis was the third and final ascent of the day after Democrat and Lincoln. The summit on Bross was a broad plateau, almost like it was artificially flattened, and large enough for a nice football game. There were several groups of hikers, including a couple hiking with their two golden retrievers. Upon arrival at the summit, the dogs flopped down for a much-deserved nap. I was envious, but more anxious to descend back to the car (hey, we just bagged three summits.) The descent was steep, in loose gravel which kept filling up my boots. The car was a welcome sight at the end. |
