Ascent Trip ReportEntered 12/13/2018.
This was the first outing with both Outdoor Pursuits groups. We walked from the Phillips Academy campus to Holt and Boston Hill, taking the trail off Salem Street to Rt. 125 entering Ward Reservation near a long boardwalk. It was a short hike from there on the Red Trail to the road that led to the summit, offering great, clear views of Boston and the surroundings. While there we played our own version of "Museum" where one person would stand on the solstice stones and try to catch people trying to reach your position. You win of you catch everybody but that's usually not the case. Often it's the first person to reach the stones wins. We then hiked somewhat indirectly to Boston Hill and Elephant Rock, approaching the hill from the south on the Blue Trail. Took a group photo at Elephant Rock. Great views of Boston from this hill as well. We then took a direct route back to Holt Hill on the same Blue Trail (it's a loop) and took Prospect Street and Salem Street back to campus. We arrived after dark.
