Ascent Trip ReportStarted from Skyline Trailhead. First .5 mile paved, then dirt road for another .5. At one mile, road begins to switchback up the ridge toward North Divide Road, reaching it at 5.1 miles. Good place for a short rest. Turn north for another 2.5 miles along North Divide Road, with many ups-and-downs, finally reaching the summit at 7.65 miles. Little hazy toward the west (marine layer), but pretty clear to the north and east. Good views. There had been at least one fire in the area during the past year, so there was a lot of 'bleak-ness' along the road. Some of the towers and equipment at the summit were destroyed. No summit sign, but benchmark intact. Total of 15.3 miles and 3690 feet of gain.
