Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Indian Hill is the 10th highest named highpoint in Oklahoma. I was able to obtain permission from a lady living NW of the highpoint and I drove on an access road from the north until I was .49 mile from the summit. The road continued, but it had deteriorated and I was not comfortable driving any farther in my tiny 1991 Ford Festiva. I started hiking on foot and followed the crude road to the top of a mound with oil storage tanks and where the road ended when I was .28 mile from the summit. From here I went cross country down into a dried up river bed then back up to the highpoint's broad summit plateau where the highest point was not easily identifiable, but there were some good views. I reached the summit in 21 minutes after covering .83 mile. Instead of returning by my same route, I chose to follow a more direct path back to my car mostly using cattle trails. I reached my car in 10 minutes this time and only covered .53 mile which was 1/4 mile shorter than my ascent route.
