Ascent Trip Report

Rockland County's second highest peak is far more interesting than the tallest (Rockhouse Mountain) because of the fire tower gracing the summit. Climb and there's a wonderful view of the lower Hudson Valley, Harriman State Park, and Manhattan in the distance.

Relatively straightforward 2.5-mile hike up a yellow-blazed trail. Part of this is along an old road and, if one desires, they could just hike up the cell tower access road to the summit. The yellow trail passes a series of ruins roughly 1/3 of the way up
