Ascent Trip ReportWhen going from Cobb Mountain to the CoHP at the Southwest Peak, there is no need to attempt to follow the old road down the hillside. That is totally destroyed from the fires. We took to bushwhacking down the hillside at random just heading down. This was easier as there were fewer downed trees than on the road. Once in the valley, it was easy to get up to the southwest peak. However, once at the CoHP, we saw a newly bulldozed road back up the spine of the Cobb Mountain. We took this on the way back and it was a much much better route than our bushwhack on the way down. It is visible in the return of our track or with a quick look at satellite maps.
