Ascent Trip ReportHiked with a bunch of Freemasons: Lee, Trent, Travis, Mike, Parker, Anson, Matt. Drizzly and no visibility—but very pleasant hike. There's a commemorative bench for Captain Paul McKay, the Australian soldier (and Freemason) who died on Scarface. Didn't find the spot where his ashes were scattered, but Lee got the GPS coordinates from the man's mother so he can find the memorial next time. There's a cairn and a wooden cross, with McKay's dog tags hanging on it. No view at the top, but surprisingly pleasant hike, even in the drizzly rain. Just a couple of steep spots. |
