Sawyer Romig -- Trip Report or GPS Track
|Date:||Sunday, August 12, 2018|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Old Snowy Mountain|
| Elevation:||7880 ft / 2401 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe trail was well maintained with beautiful views. We camped at Alpine Camp on the first night. After we joined the PCT, it was a mile until there was a stream to top off our water bottles. Then a 1/2 mile until it had snow. After that, it was 1/2 a mile until the summit with a short scramble to the top. Some people hogged the summit the whole time we were there and barely let us touch the high ground to claim the peak, kind of rude. After the peak, we reclaimed our overnight gear from where we stashed it at the PCT junction with the Snowgrass trail and continued south on the PCT towards Cispus Basin for our next objectives: Big Horn and Gilbert.
