Ascent Trip Report

Spectacular scenery every step of the way from our camp north of high pass to the summit. Larch trees are turning color for the season and look amazing! Crampons used on permanent snowfield but not steep enough to use an axe. Otherwise, no snow on route. Returned to our camp north of high pass to find a perfect ripe avocado in our bear can. We have no idea how it go there. Thank you! It hit the spot as a perfect supplement to our bread and roast beef for sandwich before the long hike out. Only saw one hiker just past Liberty Cap, and he was on his way up and did not leave us the avocado... Reached car at 10:40pm under headlamps. Larry said it best - “this place is so beautiful we should have been out here for 3 days.” Plus the headlamps and long days of walking... Pics
