Ascent Trip ReportTook the steeper, shorter, more direct trail up (bear left at the pile of cairns) and the longer, more gradual trail down (you would bear right at the cairns if you're going up). The longer, more gradual trail is a bit trickier to follow as other trails intersect and there are no trail markers. A few old tin can lids are on the short, steep trail but you really don't need them. Climbed the tall tower and the views were big and wide. Could see Stissing Lake and Thompson Pond Nature Preserve. Found a geocache (it's kind of "tricky"). Went to the preserve and walked the trail to the info kiosk and down to the marshy opening, but not all the way around the pond.
