Ascent Trip ReportReverse hike starting on skyline blvd just off rt 92. Full parking lot. Hiking down towards the ocean was extremely easy with ample switchbacks and cool ocean air. first mile and a half took what felt like 10 seconds. Hiking up to the peak started at the North Ridge trail and Whittemore Gulch trail. Pretty steep sprint up to a plateaued bluff before the peak. easy incline up and around the north east face of the peak brought me to a clearing that served as a pseudo peak. the actual peak was 100 feet to my left and protected on all sides by a literal wall of poison oak. miss me with that, logged the peak as close as I could. Might consider a return in winter months when the PO is more twig than leafy asshole. the steep trail made for a slow decent back to a flatter bit of terrain before hiking back up the north ridge trail to the lot. some difficulty in my hiking partner, Emma but we made it back to the lot quickly with the help of the switchbacks. pretty crowded trail. good ocean views. view of half moon bay and whatever that airport is there.
