Ascent Trip ReportPart of a group of 10 Mazamas. Started at the PCT trailhead near Santiam Pass at 7am. Got to the junction to the climbers trail at 9. Made it up to the "Crawl" by 11. There was a group of 6 Obsidians whose fixed line we were able to use to get across the Crawl. There was also a private group of 3 just ahead of us. When we got to the summit block, the Obsidian group was rappelling down. The group of three headed up with the third person taking our rope up to the top. After the group of three rappelled down, we headed up to the top. after the obligatory summit photos, we rappelled back down to the base of the summit block. The group of 3 had set up our rope for the fixed line back across the crawl so we were able to traverse the crawl back and then we cleaned our route and headed down. We were back at the cars by 8pm. 13 hours is a long time out there, but considering there were two parties ahead of us and we had such a large party, we were pleased with the outcome and time of our trip.
