Ascent Trip Report

Second time in Almaden park proved to be a really pleasant hike. Raced the sun for these peaks and came out on top. 3 peak day. Church hill peak is marked by a stack of natural rock within an oak grove. The trail was rough but easily navigable. I also shimmied up an older flag pole just outside the oak grove past the stack of rocks. The flag pole was a little higher and I didn't want to leave a peak high point untouched. Mine hill came next up a gradual grade of a wide trail. Very pleasant hiking the windows of Umunhum and Prieta on the ridge South of the park. Mine Hill is marked with a semi-circular stack of rocks but the topo peak is a little Northwest of that location behind some poison oak. Whatever. Took a cool panoramic of Umunhum and Prieta. I walked back down a the peak trail and cut across a field of dry grass and bush using a concrete storm gutter. Cemetery Hill was the last peak of the day and required following off-trail contours and game trails. There is a cement block marking what I suspect is a peak. Jogged back downhill, past some graffitied structures and through the park to the Mockingbird parking lot.
