Ascent Trip Report

There are at least two trails leading up Hector Creek: after crossing to climbers L of creek and climbing, at a cairned fork, R is the most direct way, scrambling a little then crossing the creek above a small waterfall. We kept L, scrambling a little and crossing the creek higher up. The trail continues up L; we headed R, crossing easy ground and then the creek, picking up the trail, which is cairned to about 2600m.

The glacier was covered with new snow from a few days ago: we started encountering snow covered crevasses; not a good place for a team of two. Mt Joffre likely similar so we spent the afternoon heading west where the recent change in weather is less of an issue.
