Ascent Trip Reportit was the best spring day we could find, it was around 70 degrees in just mid march, me and my brother climbed Mt. Webster by ourselves, we got to the fork to go to Webster and Jackson we wanted to go to the smaller one first because we would get more elevation. we were the only ones who climbed Mt. Webster it looked like all year, we followed the blazers up, about 3/4 of the way up we lost the trail and blazed the rest of the way up to the top, i believe we were the only ones who made it to the top that day. We couldn't find the trail to go over to Mt. Jackson so we blazed our way over there to the summit hoping to bag a 4,000 footer. (first of the year) this trail (Webster Cliff Trail) was not maintained and hard to follow, i would not recommend it to younger hikers but ambitious ones and dedicated to the sport of Mt. Hiking! but overall a successful hike. |
